10. Keep immunizations up-to-date

Bargains, bargains, bargains. Immunizations are some of the true values of the health care system. They simply and effectively eliminate or greatly reduce the illness associated with the disease they were designed to prevent. Their very success allows people to focus on the dread of receiving the vaccine and its possible side effects rather than the risk of the disease.

Many health professionals and most of the population have not seen the infectious diseases that the common childhood vaccines have prevented, much less the deaths and disability that have been prevented by receiving the vaccine. Or said another way, vaccines really do work. Personally, I keep myself fully vaccinated and ensure that my wife and adult children maintain full vaccination schedules as well.
